You just got that shiny new hoverboard that you have been dreaming of, and now it is time to learn how to ride it. Now that push has come to shove it may seem a bit overwhelming. The good news is riding really is not that hard. Of course you will most likely be a bit wobbly at first, but with some general knowledge and a little practice you will be riding like a professional in no time.
The very first thing you need to take care of is wearing the proper protective gear. You will certainly fall off the board a lot while you are learning so it is extremely important to protect yourself with a helmet, pads, and gloves. These items will come in extremely handy by protecting you during nasty spills until you get the general hang of riding a hoverboard. Now that you have the proper gear it is time to jump on the hoverboard and give it a go.
First and foremost make sure that it is fully charged. You obviously cannot learn how to ride a dead hoverboard. Turn the power to the on position and put the machine on the ground in front of you. Make sure the LED lights are facing forward. If your toy has various ride modes make sure to set it on beginner. Begin by putting your dominant foot on the board. Use your foot to put it into a level and upright riding position. Then simply lift your other foot off of the ground and step onto your shiny new toy. At this point you need to relax and take a deep breath. Keep in mind that all hoverboards are designed to balance you once both feet are on it. It will actually help you to balance as long as you remain calm and cool. Make sure to ride with a wide stance. If you place your feet too narrow on the hoverboard it will negatively affect your stability.
Now that you are balancing fairly well it is time to start actually riding your new hoverboard. Simply move forward and backward by shifting your weight in the direction you want to move. The more you do it, the better you will become at riding. Turning is a similar concept. Remember that each side of the hoverboard is independent. You can actually twist each side. In order to turn right push your left foot forward. Obviously push your right foot forward in order to turn left. This foot movement provides the board with the twisting motion it needs. When performed quickly you can use this method to spin, which is a ton of fun once you get the hang of it.
Once you are completely comfortable with the basics there are many advanced moves and tricks to learn. Always keep in mind that even the best hoverboard riders had to start with these same basic steps. The only difference between you and them is the fact that they started riding a hoverboard earlier than you. Before long you will be riding like a professional as well.
